The King will reply, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for Me.” Matthew 25:40
This afternoon a sidewalk in downtown Indianapolis became home to a beautiful piece of art. The beauty is the sculpture itself as well as what it symbolizes.
Several community organizations came together to bring the statue to our city. It is a permanent reminder of our city’s homeless population. Outreach is honored to be a part of the partnership along with Roberts Park United Methodist Church, Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic, Wheeler Mission and Soup’s On. This isn’t the finale of the a partnership but the launch of a new program. The program will be housed at Roberts Park UMC. The program will be an immersion experience to teach our community about homelessness and how we can truly help.
If you are in the downtown area, stop by the corner of Alabama and Vermont and see the statue.
