We Are Kicking Off Our Graduation Letter Writing Campaign

Year after year, we are told by our graduating class that the thing that they cherish the most about their graduation, and the celebration which we host to honor them, is the letters and notes that they receive from complete and sometimes anonymous strangers. It isn’t uncommon to reconnect with a youth from a past graduating class and one of the first things they share is how touched they were to receive those cards, and how much they mean to them, even to this day. We are often told that they still have them hanging on their wall, and they keep going back and re-reading them, when they have a bad day, when they need a little encouragement, or even sometimes when they just need to feel like someone cares.

We know in our own lives how much a compliment or kind word can turn around a day, but being showered with letters, cards and notes from people who don’t even know them but choose to bless them with words of inspiration and support, has made the biggest impact on their lives up to this point. You never know how much a kind word can mean to someone, so to be able to share a few with our youth doesn’t take much time or effort, but it can truly change a life!!

Interested in helping us honor and celebrate our 2016 graduating class?

Here are a few details:

  • We ask that we have the letters in hand by June 4th so we have time to sort them into the students bags
  • If you would like to add a little gift in there, Gift Cards are an awesome way to help these students in the next chapter of life! (ideas for cards: Starbucks, Wal-Mart, Target, Kroger, CVS, Walgreens, Jimmy Johns, Subway, Qdoba, Panera and Panda Express.  Also any card that will allow them to get a pizza delivered!!)
