“What can I do?” One of the most common questions asked when talking about helping our city’s homeless teens.
As a part of National Homeless Youth Awareness Month, each day we are going to share a story of one of our awesome volunteers. They aren’t superheroes– just men and women with super hearts!!
Today’s spotlight is on Rosie Mizell.
Rosie is a Life Specialist with Farm Bureau Insurance.
Rosie volunteers 2 Thursdays a month at our night Drop In. She also has encouraged her Bible Study to help our youth, and each year they host a “Covered In Love” party to help us stock up on bras for our young ladies.
We asked Rosie: “How have you seen God transform you or a youth while volunteering at Outreach?” Rosie’s response: “I see the light in many of their eyes once they gain trust in you. Those who work at Outreach and those who volunteer, along with the youth accept Outreach as their family. They really care for each other. I am blessed, so very blessed to be able to volunteer and bring the love of Jesus to these kids.”
We are blessed to have support from incredible people like Rosie!
